Sugar. Sugar. Sugar!

Seriously tho, sugar. It is EVERYWHERE! And it has like 60 different names and forms (see the picture) 😳 How is one to know all the different names of sugar and where to look to cut back?

Read the labels. Added sugar is mostly found in things that come in a package with a label. Look for it in the ingredients list and then decide whether or not it's necessary to have whatever it is you're holding. Then maybe think, is it necessary that sugar even be added to it? Like peanut butter for example. Sure Jif is deliciously creamy, but if you can easily cut sugar out from peanut butter than maybe you can still be ok with having sugar in your coffee? Make choices. Cut it out where you can. Especially, for your kids. Don't get me wrong, some sugar is just fine. It's about cutting back where you can simply to be a little healthier. #itsaboutbalance Check out this Harvard article on sugar.

Wait for the...

Who else has looked at the scale and been like, "WHAT? How is that possible? I worked my a$$ off lately?" 🙋🙋 Although I try not to step on the scale much because it usually doesn't move in the "right" direction for me, I do have one and I do step on it. I have definitely wondered how is it possible that I didn't drop weight? Well, like most things, there are levels and plateaus. Check out this cool graphic that puts it visually for us.

Just a Young (Fat) Girl - Part 2

Just a Young (Fat) Girl - Part 2

In last blog post, I shared with you that I was often teased as a young girl for being fat. I shared one of two very defining moments that helped shape my life's relationship with fitness. Today, I will share the second story. If you haven't read my last post, I invite you to read that one first so that you have a bit of background...and, it is a good read, if I do say so myself :)

If my stories speak to you, I would love to learn more about you and help you with your personal growth through health and fitness. Please click here to connect with me.

Just A Young (Fat) Girl

Just A Young (Fat) Girl

Where to start my story? What is my story? These questions run through my head often. It's hard to box me up into a few things. A part of my story that impacted me greatly as a young girl, was being endlessly teased for being fat. Yes, I said fat. I hate that word. Anybody else? In today's world, I would be considered an average sized preteen girl, but today's childhood obesity rate is another topic for another day. There are two VERY defining moments in my past that hurt and dug deep into me at the time. I'll share one with you today. These moments shaped who I am today. No regrets. In fact, I'm pretty sure these moments are what gives me the drive to be as fit and healthy as I can be, why I alway encourage people to go on this health journey for themselves, and why I don't judge people for where they are with their health in life.
